Xmas & NY accomm in Santiago & Valpariso

Hi,

Its now looking like we will probably hit Santiago by Xmas and Valpariso by New Year, and as we will probably need to try and book ahead for some accommodation, does anyone have any good recomendations (matrimonial type room with banos and pref kitchen facilities rather than dorm type accommodation)

Thanks

Mike

Hello,
I have an adress near Valparaiso, near the central bus station. Well it is not that type of room you asked for, but since until now there is no other reply to your question I write you this adress:

Viña del Mar
GPS-coordinates: S33°01,185 W71°32,808
it is a little Hostal, cheap and leaded by a family. the bikes you can store safely just a road fruther in a garded garage of the rodoviaria (Parada de Autobus) I am not sure anymore about the price: maybe 3000Pesos/ 2 Motos per 2 night?

Just to make it easyer to find the hostal: In case you stand in front of the house (Parada de autobus) with the house in your back: Turn right and head to the next corner, turn again right into the little road, follow the road to the next corner (50m) and turn again right. Now you are already in the mentioned road, where you will find the hostal. It is on the left hand side of that road and I believe it is a green house. But ask the people around.

Anyway, in Vina del Mar near the coast there is a huge hotel and it is certainly very luxurious but maybe also very expensive. There are a lot of hotels, just head along the coast.

have a nice trip and enjoy it!

Hallo again,
I am sorry, I checked it and the house was ne green. It was unfortunately a white house, as the most in that row. Anyway, we lived in the house with the number 1056. However i believe the house with the "Reception" was on the other side of the road.

Ok, have a nice ride and enjoy it.

Best regards

Valparaiso or Viña for the New Year fireworks show? Sorry, but this is close to impossible. For the NY Varparaiso/Viña receive around 1.000.000 visitors, many of them return to Santiago this day, but enough people to use every bed in the area sleep there this night.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
