When to ride sa to canada

I see a lot of bikes for sale in Argentina after folks have completed their Americas trip. I like this idea but i was just wondering how difficult it would be to ride in reverse from SA to NA with the seasons being backwards?

Hi alpinerider,
Well, I'm riding SA to NA at the moment. Assuming I make it that far and don't run out of money.

If you want to start your trip in Ushuaia, you have to hurry up 'cause it's gettin' cold. 5-6 days ago it was snowing

I'm not sure I even understand the question. You can ride either direction. The seasons will work the same way no matter which direction you are heading--they operate independently of overland motorcyclists. Each direction has some advantages and disadvantages, depending on everything under the sun, including your specific route and timing.

I left Ushuaia around this time of year heading north and arrived in British Colombia mid-summer, which was a good thing to do. On the other hand, prior to that I left Washington State in mid-September heading south to arrive in Ushuaia late-January, which was also a very good thing to do.

Hi Mark, I'll bet that Galilao Galilei would have liked you for his brief, although on the down side you would probably have both been toast(ed). Ride safe.

Actually, my mileage dropped significantly on that long, uphill return journey....but I thought it best not to complicate things by mentioning it.

Hoist one on me! I'll gladly pay you Thursday.

KLR650 for sale in Santiago de Chile

Hi Folks,

after finishing my trip from Canada to Ushuaia and back to Santiago I will sell my KLR650 there.

The KLR650 is a 2010 modell which I bought brandnew at a Kawasaki Dealer in Calgary on Oct. 5th 2011. Until now it´s running perfect. The kilometers counter shows 29.200km.

The bike has a Canadian registration and should be a good deal, especially for someone who wants to travel north. I have all related documents, including the bill of sales. The bike is still in manufactureres warranty and in a very good condition (except some minor war wounds / scratches on the plastics). The bike is ready to go with Ortlieb softbags, tools and parts you should carry on a long trip.

Please sent me an email or PN when you are interessted

best regards
Christian

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
