Tires in Venezuela

Can anyone tell me where I can get rear tires for a Suzuki DL650 Vstrom in Venezuela? I would prefer not to have to go in to Caracas if at all possible. If not how about northern Brazil?

I will be going from Merida to the coast and then down to Manaus in Brazil where I will get a boat to Belem. Then I think that I will try to stick to the coast. I will need tires within the next 5000kms.

Cheers
Maurice

So if you can make to Manaus you wont have a problem finding good tires and good service there... it is a major city in the middle of the jungle, but it is civilized.... don't forget to try the fish from the Amazon river.... they are really good.

Have a safe ride and if you have any question regarding Brazil shoot me an e-mail that I will try to help the best way I can...

Caracas is not so bad.

If you ride into Caracas you can find at any bike-shop (and there are many) the right tires.
You can also try to Email this man: mgerrits at cantv net (replace the space with a point and the at with a at). he is a dutch guy who imports stuff. If he is still there he can help you.

Hey Free spirit. I'm here in Puerto la Cruz Venezuela and have an extra back tire for my f650 (same size as you need? 19inch I think) with pretty good tread you can have if you think your tire won't make it to Manous.

email me if you want it.
also I am heading to Manaus June 1.. you will probably be already on your way by then, but just in case you're in the neighborhood and would like company, let me know.

Cheers
Susan

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
