tires between Ushuaia & Buenos Aires?

I'm heading north from Ushuaia along the coast, I know I'll be able to get some in Buenos Aires. Has anyone had any success in finding something decent in between? I've probably got 20% left, but like to keep my shoes fresh.

Drop a line to Javier from Dakar Motos in Buenes Aires. He might be able to either ship some tires to the nearest town or recomend anybody your the way up. He is always very helpful.

There's a Honda main dealer on the left as you ride into Comodoro Rivadavia on Ruta Tres. He has a reasonable selection of the larger sizes that are difficult to find elsewhere.

Bariloche

There are a couple of places where you can find tyres in Bariloche.

There are few motocycles tours agencies and they use mainly BMWs so you can find tyres.

Beware of the workshop though, they did real shoddy work on my bike! If you need repairs don't let them touch your bike unsupervised! They are thughs!

Entering Commodore Rivadavia from the South you will see a Honda shop on the left side of the road....There are a couple moto shops there...ask around.

I managed to get some Metzlers there for my V-Strom....However, the shop wouldn't mount them so I found an auto shop with a tire machine.

lucky me

the honda shop had a rear tourance (more or less what I was looking for), and "motos sur" (about 800m further along ruta 3 opposite the hospital) had the matching front. A gomeria around the corner mounted the tires on the wheels and let me use some space - prices were reasonable, and as always, cash is king. two hours later I was on the road again.

Not been there yet but found another post where you MIGHT find something
Rio Gallegos
Lucho Moto and SM Motos

Maybe contact someone at La Posta Biker cafe in Azul (close to BA so maybe not much point there) or someone from the H.U community maybe?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
