Hi canoeguy, I couldn't find any spanish articles either from any argentinian paper? exept for this one Río Negro: Cierran la ruta 40 entre Bariloche y El Bolsón | DERF Agencia Federal de Noticias
But, it refers to a clousure of Ruta 40 back in May this year and it was further north near Bariloche anyway?

Hi CanoeGuy, I have heard or read nothing either.

What is your schedule by the way, are you heading north?

We met at Mitta Mitta this year and I am currently in Mexico and heading south. It will take me a few months to get down there but

Cheers

It's possible that he meant the bit between Tapi Aike and El Cerrito which is closed in winter. The Footprint guide calls it 'rough' but it's easy dirt, although I found it had deteriorated between '04 and '08. The asfalto alternative is via La Esperanza on local rutas 7 & 5.

Ahh OK, no worries then, I will try and attend the next meeting, whenever that is, I will be arriving back February, just in time for the Rumble to the Barossa and then the Ulysses AGM in Albany, the 'long way home "

Cheers

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
