Question Bike Renatl in Peru - any ideas??

Hi all,

I am looking to rent a bigger bike (BMW GS/KTM 990 or similar) or even a road bike 600cc plus for a few days in Peru but have had no luck with google, internet in general or with any of the companies I have managed to contact in Peru.
If anyone has any leads at all I would be very grateful.
Many thanks

John

I think if you went to bike rental row in Cuzco, & stated that you were looking for 600cc plus they would find a Yamaha xt 600 to rent you. Otherwise, you could go to the mechanic in mira flores Lima and put the word out to try and arrange a ""private rental." There are a few agencies catering to tours with foreignors, mostly using 600cc Yamahas & 400cc honda falcons.

good luck

Many thanks

Thank you to all for the thoughtful and useful replies.

I have got in touch with the two dutch guys in Arequipa and they seem to be able to help as all others have small (600 and off road) bikes only - so thanks again to you all for the leads!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
