Shipping bikes Colombia to Chile??

Apparently I'm the only person on the planet that has tried to ship a bike from Buenaventura, Colombia to Arica or Iquique, Chile!
Please let me know if I'm wrong! I have attempted to contact shipping companies found here on the HUBB but no replies from any of them. We need to return our chinese bought bikes to the Copacabana border from Peru to Bolivia, (due to problems with the Aduana) and we don't have much time left.
I figured both locations being on the Pacific coast, it can't be that hard. I mean I'm sure there's enough ships carrying all that crap that gets imported from China, dotting there way down the coast dropping off the chinese bikes, TV's and plastic toys!! Anyone know how I can get my 2 chinese bikes on one??:helpsmilie:

Buenaventura

Hola Camtracey,

just went to Buenaventura, but of course I did not ask for shipping. And only stayed a night, it is a port town and it was a hassle to find a hotel with parking for the bike.

Sorry I cant help you with putting the bikes on a boat, but I think it should be possible. Maybe putting the bikes on a truck, but this could be difficult because of all the border crossings and also to find a truck that goes all the way.

At the moment i am in Salento and this place is full of young backpackers that are volunteering on the farms, and they are always up for an adventure. Maybe maybe you can find two of them to ride the bikes down ... but it wont be easy.

I will ride my Africa Twin down to Bolivia in October, but thru Venezuela and Brazil.

Good luck mate
Please send me a pm if i can help you with something

don't think this will be easy, and for sure it will be expensive at is doesn't seem a standard route.

What is the reason for not driving it, if I may aks? Cannot get into Peru from Ecuador because of your Aduana hassle?

Don't want to go back the same route we travelled up here with and don't have much time left before have to be back at work in Europe! Found an option, but crazy expensive, from Cartagena to Antofagasta. Will have to try and high tail it back through Brazil.....
