Question POI Waypoints anyone?

Any SA travelers willing to share their POI (point of interest) waypoints or track collections? I'd especially like waypoints for hotels with secure bike parking, recommended places to eat and gas in isolated areas i.e., salt flats in Bolivia or interesting side trips. Actually anything would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning a moto trip to SA this winter. I've given up on trying to find any commercial GPS maps or waypoints. I may get Smelly Bobs maps but I'm more interested in POI waypoints mentioned above.

I did find some good POI waypoints and tracks by poking around on HU and AdvRider forums (thanks to Simon and Lisa 2ride the World, and a post here on the Salt Flats and Costa Rica). Anyway I would appreciate it if any one has any tracks or way points for Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile or Argentina.

I was at the Silverton Colorado Meeting this year and forgot to ask. Also I'm new at posting so please excuse me if I'm in the wrong place.

Hy Jay,

I just resently arrived in Buenes Aires myself and I also struggeled to get decent updates on GPS maps. But here some web sites you should visit with free download of routable maps as well as PIO of Argentina, Chilli some of Paraguay Proyecto Mapear and Brasil www.tracksource.org.br/.

Good luck
Martin

I've prepared my Patagonia trip with the tracks from this website:
GPS Page

It helped me a lot to find out the exact distances from one point to another.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
