Old Toad Rides Again

This is a general message of gratitude to the many bikers on the Hubb who sent me wishes of encouragement, etc. The cast is off. I walk (gently). I will leave Rio Grande for Chile on Saturday. The bike is at Dakar Motos in Bs As. I will collect it in three weeks to continue the ride north. Cost of trucking the bike door to door, $85 - that's for 3000 Ks! Customs clearance here in Rio Grande for transport out of Tierra del Fuego, thru Chile and back into Argentina was free, though took a while. Anyone needing to do the same must make sure they have a valid (or get a fresh) Temporary Import permit for the Argentine.

Oh my goodness, that was fast!!! I thought older bones (not that you've got any) take longer to heal??? Guess it's all a myth. Good luck!

Heal

As a veteran of Patagonian bone repairs, I can say that you will feel much better once your are on the road. You might be sore in the begining. Good luck, Bro.

I was in Rio Gallegos for 5 weeks with a broken clavicle.

Loraine and gentleman, thanks for the messages. Just off to Dakar Motos for Saturday assado. I shall drink to you all a small quantity of wine as need to be careful navigating the metro steps!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
