Loading a Land Rover into a container

Hi,

I am in Peru and shipping myLadn Rover over to Australia... It´s being containerised and we are loading on Moday. The agent I have says they use blocks behind the wheels but it´s not necessary to lash anything.

I am not convinced... anybody done this before who can help. I have straps but not sure if I should just secure the axels or possibly secure the roofrack to the top of the container. HELP!!

A strong but small movement can rip that roof rack clean off. :nod

If the suspension has a lot of travel, I'd secure both the axles and bumpers, otherwise just the axles.
Spec a container with d rings in the floor.
Park the vehicle in 4wd low range 1st gear w/parking brake if it's a manual.
If you're using blocks over a wooden floor, smack the blocks into the tires and nail the blocks to the floor.

Use the 4 lashing points on the chassi - that's what they're for! Be mindful of brake lines if you strap the axles.

As LR says, put the vehicle in low first - don't rely on the trans handbrake which will have too much play.

Remember to disconnect the battery.

I hope I'm not replying too late. Some of your questions are asked before.
Besides the answers given here you can find some usefull info in this thread:
Container Handbook, chapter 5.2.4.1

This is the stuff your agent should be aware off.

Whatever you do, never secure your roofrack to the top of the container!
imagine your vehicle sway in it's suspension and your roofrack can't
