Leaving the bike in Chile

Hi Folks,
I'm stuck in Santiago waiting to get a new shock fitted to my bike (I wish Wemoto would hurry up and answer my emails :frown:).
I'd like to pop over the border and visit some friends in Cordoba while I'm waiting for the bike to get fixed. Does anyone know any reason that I can't do this?
i.e. Is the temporary import permit I have for Chile tied to my current visa?

Thanks,
Dunc.

I think there is no problem for you to take the bus or plane and spend some time in Argentina. Then go back to your Tenere.
Do they stamped something about your bike on the passport?
If not it shouldn´t be a problem.Tell them if they ask you are picking up some spares in Arg?

Nope it is not a problem as long you don't export the bike before your Temp Admission permit does not expire.
Yuor personla visa is not tied to the bike permit.

Hi Karl,
Things are starting to look up. I found a second hand WP shock back in the UK and it's currently in transit. Hopefully I can get my bike back on the road in a few days.

Mendoza next, then Cordoba. Sending about 20kg of stuff home tomorrow.
How much did WP improve the bike's handling? I'm hoping for quite a difference, particularly with the weight drop as well.
