itchy feet again...

Ok, in 2002 I took 18 months doing london to Oz on a KTM... :thumbup1: Eastern Europe, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India route (came back via Russia and the Baltics but not on a bike!) and then in 2008 I took 6 months going from Tangier, Moroc down to Cape Town :) on the west african route (very muddy route! :confused1:) Both trips were done on my own, which is generally how i like to travel. Anyway, its now rapidly approching 2013 and i need to get on a bike and do some miles again.... those feet are itching away.

I dont have the 18 months or even the 6 months i had then, in fact i probably have just 4 months i could get away for, and the main place left for me to explore on a bike is south america.

So, question, could i ship a bike to somewhere in Brazil and get down to Tierra del Fuego taking in bits of Bolivia, Chille and Argentina on the way, in 4 months? and what would be the best time of year to start from?

Many thanks for any points in advance...

I'd go in summer (their summer)... November-Feb. Nice and hot, pretty dry and TDF won't be under ice & snow ;)

Why not start in bsas at Dakar Motos in late November, head South for the HU meeting in Viedma (Dec) then head down to Ushuaia for xmas/Ny parties.

Then up the west coast of Chile (stunning) and into Bolivia and then east into Brasil... Easy in four months.
