Insurance: who do I call?
 

We are based in the UK.

We are travelling to BA to spend 3 months round Patagonia, Chile and back to BA.

Any recommendations for cheap, decent insurance either in the UK or in Argentina to cover us for health and any for the bike (R1150GS)?

Rough idea of what the going rates are would be useful too!

As for bike insurance... I managed to find a broker who sold me a deal in Buenos Aires... I asked a courier for directions; figured they would know where to go. Not sure it was actually worth anything more than reassurance, but it allegedly covered me for all the countries of Mercosur except Brazil - Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile. [In Brazil, everyone laughed at the very idea of bike insurance: they couldn't conceive of it!] I was never asked to show insurance documents by customs or police/ army checkpoints.

I think most people here who have riden in South America have done so without bike insurance.
