ADV. BIKE FOR SALE - Buenos Aries, ARGENTINA / or Punta Arenas Chile – 2005 KTM 640 adventure

Not a sales pitch, just a well-deserved description of 640 adventures for those of you who are new to the bike.
The 640’s truly are in a class of their own. No other adventure bike compares in handling, suspension, and power to the 640 adv’s. While this bike is fine for cruising around South America on pavement and secondary roads (which has been the majority of mine and my dad’s trip) it is also a genuine off road bike, capable of producing some serious grins and adrenaline packed fun. In short this bike will take you anywhere if you’ve got the skills, and will keep a continues smile on your face along the way. If you goal is to ride South America, this bike will do the trick. But if your goal is to pick up a bike that is a blast to ride and will take you anywhere at an aggressive pace, that’s really what this bike’s been designed for

The Bike:

2005 KTM 640 adventure.
Will have about 38,000 miles on it when I reach Buenos Aries. Currently has 35,000 (I bought it at 22,000 and rode it from Alaska)

Extras include
• An after market windshield
• Aluminum Happy Trails Panniers and rear rack
• Heated Grips
• Garmin GPS and mounting (preloaded with SA maps) has a small electronic blemish in the screen due to getting pinched in my saddle bags, see picture. I haven’t used the GPS much.
• New spare front and rear sprockets
• Plenty of Spare carb parts and different sized jets
• Kickstand and center stand (not sure if stock 640’s come with a kick stand)
• PDF Service manual and paper owners
• And More, email me if you would like a complete detailed list of all spare parts and extras.
At the end of the trip I will be sorting gear and luggage and may leave some behind. A large dry bag, motorcycle cover, and possibility a pair of riding boots, BMW pants, and a touring jacket are all potentials for leaving. If you are interested in any of these things and I decide not to take them, we can work out a very fair deal or throw some in with the bike.

Pleas email with any questions, or any specific pictures you’d like me to take. Looking to sell the bike early to mid April in either Buenos Aries or Punta Arenas Chile where I hear it is a free trade zone.

$5,000

NOTE: We will have the KTM dealer go through the bike once we get to Buenos Aries and make sure the bike is in top shape before we selling it to make sure the bike is ready to roll. Seems like a fair thing to do for you the buyer, being as you will be buying the bike sight unseen. If they find anything needs fixing or replacing we will have it done. This will be a fully ready for adventure KTM checked out and given a clean bill of health from a dealer.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
