Try Nosiglia in La Paz - its a big shop & more likely to have (or be able to get) parts.

Forget about Potosi

I only saw one shop for older bikes.

The only available oil brand was "76". My bike burned that oil in no time!!!

Great service in Sucre

Hi there we found Nicki Stumvoll (speaks English) really helpful in Sucre. Benito Mojos 99 Tel: 6439169 cell 761 10034. Gert at the Joyride Cafe (great hangout for bikers and other travellers) just off the main square told us about him. We rode through on 2 Honda Falcons NX400s about 8 months ago and he changed our fork oil for us and sorted out our altititude jets (finally after weeks and weeks of hunting for the right size)- we'd have been more than happy to get him to do more servicing for us - he knows all the Honda shops in town. Whatever you do do NOT get anything done in Oruru - we had a catalogue of disasters there in the only place on our whole 6 month trip where we didn't have an introduction from other bikers. Ripped off wholesale and crap work to boot. Wish we'd known about Nicki as we'd have waited till Sucre. Say hi to Nicki from the 2 English women on the little red Hondas - now sadly back home enduring the English winter! Have fun.

Hi,

Many thanks. This is exactly what we have just done. Thanks for directions. This service is really good, they did the bikes in no time, to me looked professionally and price no problem. A little pissed off that we looked at their hands all the time, ... but these habits from asia... (once they did not put air filter inside, so).

Really great and we were a bit scared - crossed salar de coipasa in wather to half a wheel, everything in salt. No clean and shiny.

These nxr 400 looks good on the road, waht was the fuel consuption?

Have a nice winter !
Take care

Regards
Konrad
