If you are visiting the Cono Sur (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay) and have a Garmin gps you can donwload very detailed maps from http://www.patagonia4x4.com.ar/ Visit the GPS section, all in Spanish, and there are free maps to download. Those maps are built with colaborations from the people in the region.
