Forced lay up in Cajamarca Peru

Greetings travellers.

Are there any riders in the Cajamarca area over the next week or so? We will be here enjoying a forced lay up due to a failed ignition coil. Parts are on the way but it all takes time. It would be good to catch up with others for a chat and a drink.

On the move again.

Hi Ian and Vanessa..

We have fixed the problem after one week and are on the move again.Turned out to be a carburetor issue (my fault). We arrived in Huaraz last night. Got an email from Bob and advises he has some electrical issues as well.

We will be back in B A at Dakar Motos probably around the end of November or early December before heading to the HU Meeting in Viedma. We have been in Sth America two years and have not been to one yet.!!!! Should be a good one this year meeting old friends and also email contacts we have never met!!

We will be in Cusco in about 10 days then will make our way to Bolivia via Lake Titicaca. Hope the Salar de Uyuni is dry.

Hi Ken & Carol

We are now in Arequipa headding South to Chile. and not so sure about the right rout to Antofagasta.
Do you have any idea about the quality of rout 1 from Iquqe to Antofagasta on the shore?
and do you have any recomendation on places to stay for a night. including the place you were stuck in CajamarcaqTacna?

BTW, we met with Ian and Vanessa twice already, and hope to meet them again after they will cross the Salar

Have fun and hope to meet one day

Thanks

Yoni (AK to TDF)
Gali (Quito to Antofagasta)

Forced lay up in Cajamarca

Greetings Yoni.

Our temporary lay up was in Cajamarca Peru. This city is situated north east of Trujillo (Peruvian coast). Are we talking about the same city? Unfortunately we have not been to this part of Southern Peru or Northern Chile Another road we have yet to ride!!!

K&C - good to hear you have solved it :-) We are now in Puno and heading into Bolivia tomorrow to Copacobana then on down to Potosi then Uyuni hopefully if the roads are ok for us. If you catch us up it would be great to meet up in Bolivia.

Yoni, good to hear your "voice" again :-)

Regards,

Ian & Vanessa

Still in Huaraz

Hola Ian and Vanessa

We are still in Huaraz but hope to leave tomorrow heading to Cusco. Will do Machu Picchu and a few other things before heading to Puno and Copacabana. We will be a fair way behind you at this rate. But we never say never... Hope the good weather stays with you.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
