Ferry Porvenir Punta Arenas

If anybody needs, the timetable for the ferry from Porvernir to Punta Arenas, Tierra del Fuego, Chile and vice versa and other ferrys from Punta Arenas are at the site:
Transbordadora Austral Broom S.A.

It has a different timetable for every day and it`s usually not on Monday.

Rates

Anyone know how much it costs to bring a moto across? It is 32,000 pesos for a "car or similar", but I did not see a rate specifically for bikes.

I took the ferry Porvenir to Punta Aranas last December. It was about 20 bucks in Chilean currency for me and the bike. Cash only. I will say the ferry you don't want to miss is the 4 1/2 day one going up the inside passage from Puerto Natalas to Puerto Montt.. That was about $650 for me and the bike, food included. That was for a bunk in a cabin which had other bunks which were empty. The fares are lower in the winter. Bring a book to read they don't have WIFI, but the views are unforgettable. Dave

I used it about a month ago - it's $Chilean 10,000. There's a new boat now which only takes 2 1/4 hours rather than the 3 3/4 that the dear old Melinka used to.
