I send them a mail this morning, but I suppose that if they are around the north of Chile it will be difficult find Internet connection.
I hope they don’t be there.

Hi KH, Sandra and Javier,
we are still alive :-)
We didnt notice the earthquake at all.
We just crossed the border to Chile over the Jama pass and arrived in San Pedro today. It seems a lot of other travellers like that spot here. We came together with Nick and Jill (BMW) to find Sharon and Stewart (XTs) and Ralf here.
The only problem up here was so far the cold weather especially while camping on the Salar Grandes. And a broken starter ;-)
Greetings
Sherrie and Patrick

Ola,HI, We also crossed at Jama several days before the earthquake. Before crossing we met Nick and Jill at Perma Marca, Argentina and then after crosxsing met Stewert and Sharon in San Pedro de Atacama. We had just checked into our cabaña in Calama, Chile when the cabaña began to shake and Elisa and I looked at each other for a split second and both said [earthquake{ we ran out side only to experience the earth itself trembleing for about one minute more. I moved our NX400 Falcon and XR250 Tornado (Hondas) into the open and we got our tank bags in hand, but all settled down and we listened to the early reports on my radio.
We are in Arica, Chile now after one night in Tocopilla and riding the 300 plu k to arica over roads that were damaged severely in only a couple places, and traffec was down to one lane, but the caabineros had it under control and were directing traffic when needed...
I misplaced Stewerets e mail could you ask him to e mail us. We will be in Arica until Mopnday and then heading into Peru... thanks Ed and Elisa

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
