Cusco SOAT availability

Going back on the road in Peru after having my bike parked for 2 months, but still need the SOAT, if possible for one month!
Anybody can give me an address in Cusco?

I can't give you an address, but I can give you a way to find it.

Go to the tourist info office and ask where to buy seguros. Go to the 1st office they direct you to.

Ask for bike insurance, when they offer 12 months, tell them that you only want 1 month.

When they insist 12 months is better, say "yes, but only for you". after a while they will either give in or direct you to someone who does 1 month SOAT.

Just be pleasant and insistent.

Worked for me in Piura, http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...nsurance-55179

Company website La Positiva Seguros , maybe they have an office in Cusco ?

Go see Alex at PeruMotoTours a few blocks up from the plaza on Saphi Street. His sister there in Cuzco is an insurance agent and gets me my insurance for 1/2 price. Don't know how she does it, but she finds ways to get you the insurance you need!

PS Prices on SOAT just jumped up GREATLY for 2014!

Cheers! Toby

Cusco SOAT

For everyone who wish to buy or extend their compulsory insurance for Peru in Cusco: The La Positiva policy for 1, 3 or 12 month is available from SERVISEGUROS, Avenida El Sol 803, phone (84) 226001. 1 month extension cost us US$35 (111 SOL).
Not as cheap as Andi's, but he kept it a secret anyway .

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
