Crossing Ecuador to Peru at Macara v good

Just a quick one to say that today we crossed the border at Macara from Ecuador into Peru and it was excellent - no hassle, 10 min job, friendly customs and as a bonus the road to Piura afterwards was silky smooth and fast.

Regards to all,

Ian

As an alternative, I went south from Vilcabamba. 125 miles or so of mountains and dirt. Physically it was very challenging, but some beautiful scenery and I only saw 5 cars all day. If you want to head toward the Amazonia provice of Peru it's the way to go.
