Can you fully import a UK bike into Argentina and register it?
Hi everyone, I have a UK 640 Adventure stored in the UK, so thinking about importing and fully registered it in Argentina, complete with a new number plate. I don’t want a temporary import permit.

Does anyone know if I can or how to do this? :confused1:

Use the search function.. There are a few HUGE and very detailed threads all about this.

Today its imposible
Maybe on temporary bases if you get a working visa......

Had read other threads about selling bikes in various countries within Latin America and a mention about not being able to import to Argentina, hence to post to help clear any doubt and hoped to get some local knowledge. I wanted to import mine, keep it and not sell it.

Thanks Ted for your completely laughable reply that served absolutely no good but did increase your post count by 1! Maybe I need to end my posts differently to say “Thanks for any useful information”

I can see you're going to make a lot of friends here......


Maybe next time you won't be so lazy and make an extra 10 seconds effort to find expansive and detailed information that is already been put on the hubb. Usually a time consuming and selfless act by many previous travellers for no gain at all.

I was trying to be helpful and point you in the direction of the relevant info.

Maybe I should of searched it and linked it for you, photocopied all the forms and maybe I could of flown over and made you a cup of coffee while you read it too..

now now children, the normal search function is rubbish, it was only until I discovered google site search that I could actually research on here, and I still struggle!

Ted is a great guy!And to be honest his answer was the propper one.Don´t take it as you did.Would be better just to say "my search came up confusing, please help me a bit......" That sentence opens every door!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
