buying / renting bike from Chile-Arg-Bra

Guys,

im doing a tour from quito down the west coast chile-arg-ushuaia and up to brazil. We will be looking to do the 2nd half of the trip in bike, and will cross from chile into arg and if we can brazil.

Ive read lots of stuff about crossing the borders......could anyone perhaps simplyfy the process needed. We 1st need to get a bike obviously. Do we then need to register it? How does that work when we will be travelling and dont have a permanant address?

I wont be buying a new bike either, it will be an older 2nd hand one.

You might send an e-mail to Javier at Dakar Motors in Buenos Aires. He deals with this a lot
