Buying in Central and Selling in South America?
 

I am planning a trip through Central and South America and I am having some trouble finding information about buying a bike in one country and selling in another. Ideally I would like to buy in Mexico and sell in Bolivia but I'm open to suggestions! If anyone has done this before any information you could provide would be very welcome!

There's tonnes of advice on buying and selling in Latin America here on this site. Look at the links below or do a search. Many people prefer to have their own bike, but if you are prepared to accept whatever is on offer, and spend a little time hanging about in order to organise it, I think it's well worth doing. Have you taken into consideration shipping across the Darien?

If you want to buy a bike somewhere and are contemplating Mexico, I would suggest that you look at the U.S.. For example San Diego is right near the border, and even LA is a short ride considering the distance of the journey you are contemplating. It would be much easier to buy and outfit a bike there and then cross into Mexico. As for selling, not the easist thing in the world and as mentioned some old posts will discuss pretty extensively.
