Buying a bike in Paraguay
 

Hi all,

in a few weeks I'll be traveling to Asuncion in the hope of being able to buy & insure a bike there, in order to travel through South America. Has anyone any experience with buying & insuring in Paraguay? I'm looking for the cheapest possible option btw. Thanks!

sorry i don't believe i will be of much assistance, but i will offer you what little knowledge i have. currently i'm serving as a peace corps volunteer in paraguay. i know that motos here are a relatively new phenomenon in regards to local usage; however, there are several local makes that are quite popular and inexpensive new, namely Kenton, Star, Leopard, Taiga etc. all of which are easily purchased on the cheap.
