Buenos Aires - Hostel w/ parking?
Ahoy all,

Took the plunge a couple days ago and booked a hostel, naively thinking it would be similar to Santiago and have a compound lot with somewhere to hide the bike. It was just a single door entry...no moto parking. Does anyone have anywhere to stay that has parking??

I highly recommend Kilca Hostel in BA - 1545 Mexico, in the San Telmo District. Courtyard parking for motos. There were 6 bikes parked in the courtyard when we were there. Family run and Guido the owner is the most amazing and helpful host.

Ended up getting a bed at dakar motos. Great place and other moto traveller to share stories with!

Not at all..

It isnt the Hilton.. It's a hostel for motorcycle travellers, a great workshop and invaluabe hubb for gathing information and meeting other travellers.

Never any cockroaches there when I was there and the bathroom/showers were always kept very clean. Once you add the great Asados and all the friendly locals who drop by, it's a highlight of Argentina in itself...

Have you ever been ???? I doubt it !

I've stayed in Dakar Motos last week, and liked it a lot.
Simple, friendly, cheap, and very helpful owners.
There where a few nice MC travelers, so we had a great time.
It may not be the Hilton, but much better in my eyes.

Hi there,


if you are a mc traveller you want to meet the locals and learn from them, exchange information with other travellers and work on your bike.

if you are a tourist on two wheels you want only comfort and nice photos.

Dakar Motos is for mc travellers, and Sandra and Javier are going far out of their way to help a mc traveller ... it is the perfect place for mc travellers in BsAs.

A big MUCHAS GRACIAS for what Sandra and Javier have done for me and for many other mc travellers.

who wants to stay at a Hilton? I dont.

Dakar Motos
Unfortunately we didn't stay at Dakar when we were in B.A. but have heard nothing but good reports from other people that have. We have met Javier and Sandra and they are both extremely friendly and helpful.

I'm writing this from 1 of 5 comfy beds at Dakar motos. I spent a week here catching up on city stuff and bike maintenance and Wouldve been screwed if I'd stayed anywhere else. As a newby to motos I made a few mistakes and Javier helped me no worries!! Sandra was very welcoming when I first arrived.

The place has all you need, wifi toilet shower backyard workshop beds and fellow moto travellers!! And a supermarket around the corner. Very happy with my stay. Cheers!!

use the link and read the article, I spent 7 years at school in the same municipality and my mother lived down the road for 25 years, the neighbourhood is not very touristy, if you are short of money fair enough. But if I had to show off my country there are nicer areas

This site is Ok but I find that if people ask, it is good to give a fresh answer and not the same old stuff.
I can´t fathom the idea of getting to BA and staying out of town, if it is a trip of a lifetime at least look at other options
and BCK perhaps you would like to give us all your curriculum as the ¨traveller¨so we can all pay our respects...
I think the people who visit Dakar Motos are very capable of finding their way all over Argentina and Bsas on their own.. They go to Dakar out of choice, not because they think it's the only place.


It's hardly in the Lonley Planet...

yes, on two week holidays every year.

nobody here on the HUBB said, that barrio Florida is a nice (or touristy) area, nobody here on the HUBB said that there are no cockroaches. DakarMotos is truly Argentinean place with fantastic people running it, offering help to mc travellers.

Waterfox, I am sure you can find a more comfortable and touristy place to stay as a tourist, but you cant find more helpful motorcycle people in BsAs than Javier and Sandra.

I dont like it, if people read something on the internet and than post onto a forum like they know everything about the place they only read about.

Please answer Teds question, or/and stop talking about places you have no idea about.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love.
