BMW dealer in Bolovia or Northern Chile?

Anyone know of one please? Thanks!

no, but.....

we've heard good things about the dealer in Mendoza, Argentina and bad things about the dealer in Santiago.....

There is a chap in Iquique that imports BMW stuff, mainly from germany i think, and he is about 30 or 40 % cheaper than the dealer in Santiago. I have also heard nothing but bad things about the dealer in Santiago, they never answer email and are not helpful on the phone when you speak poor spanish!

The bloke in Iquique is not a mechanic though, but there is one in town i can recommend.

The dealer in Mendoza was very helpful but also lacked spares and based on what they did to my bike or not as the case may be they are not that technically competent. the head mechanic was good though. I think there was a post here somewhere about one of the mechanics going independant. don´t know what came of it but that may mean you get better quality service.

cheers

Thanks, I'll give the dealer in Santiago a miss then!

Do you happen to have the contact details for the Iquique chap? I've done a Google for Iquique BMW moto but not much luck.

Hola,
the mechanic is Alberto, or Beto, at Bemoto. i put a post up in the mechanic section on here. has all the details there i think, as i can´t remember them now. He only speaks spanish but is very helpful.

As for the BMW bloke. I met him but don´t have any details for him. He is nothing to do with BMW chile as far as i know. An independant. I did see adverts for him in the classified sections of some of the Chilean papers when i returned to Arica to renew a Peru Visa. If you are in Chile now you could have a look.

Beto knows the man, as he is the one that took me round his yard. he imports ex german army trucks aswell and sells them on in Chile.

sorry i can´t be of more help.

cheers
mike

BMW dealer in Chile is WBM, you find them in www.wbm.cl, their service is very good, but really expensive.

They have offices only in Santiago

Thanks all,

I´m in Uyuni now, and have filter & tools to do my own service - I think my tyres are going to have to make it to Santiago. Do you happen to have the Address/GPS of the Continental importer I am told is there?

IanC 19 Jan 2007 21:20

OK got it sorted

Continental importer in Santiago is carlos@mototurismo.cl. For some reason Conti don´t list his email on their website. The only other they list in SA is in Caracas!
