Footprint books

A good book is "Footprint South American Handbook". I like it better then Lonely Planet. It has a bit info about travelling by motorcycle/car.

As above Footprint - most folk with the others ended up using ours for details, top guide, but not as nice to look at

I concur with the other guys, Footprint is at the moment the best South America guide on the market, I used the 2004 one on my last visit and I'm using the 2006 ed. now. The word on the street is that a 2007 version is due out in Sep. A quick tip, send Footprint an e-mail with some updates on anywhere and they will give you 40% off the purchase price of a guide book from their website, cheaper than Amazon. Ride safe, Mike Anderson.
