There and Back Again

Amigos,
Getting another opportunity to chase Albert around Quito on his SM is one reason Im considering riding back to North America from Ushuaia instead of
shippimg home.

Cheers MAX :thumbup1:

Glad to hear it's not from Puerto Williams!!!

Had a good ride today - in Rio Gallegos tonight although I didn't leave Ushsuaia 'till 11.30am. Bike doesn't seem to have deteriorated so far.

This beer in Equador thread is turning into the Turtles Head Pub Alumni
Association, Or maybe this is what Grant intened to happen by creating
this motorcycle community.
We are still in Ushuaia and Puerto Willams is still a possibilty.
We ran into Worldrider and are doing some hikes, the weather is beautiful
and we love Ushuaia.

happy trails MAXVERT

Canon del Pato - Waypoints

Albert - I actually managed to miss CDP turnoffs both on the Pan-Am and afterwards - I remember you weren't sure where exactly the turnoff was near Chimbote.

So, this may be useful to Mark and others: Turn off from the Pan-Am is at S8° 59.073' W78° 37.023' (through Santa).

Also, after heading towards the CDP, I missed another turning! I followed the tarmac on a very winding (but spectacular) cul-de-sac of nearly 70 miles each way to a remote village (Huandoval?), when I should have turned right on the dirt road at S8° 39.516' W78° 14.025' to Huallanca. I had a feeling I'd gone wrong, and kept asking people, who assured me I was on the right track! Either my Spanish was way too bad, or pronounciation of Huallanca was getting confused with Huandoval.

BTW the road SW from Loja to the border crossing at Mancara was spectacular.

My trip's now complete - flying home from BA this evening, bike's already gone.
