Post Riding through Peru, Bolivia and Argentina

Hi folks

My plan is to ride from Peru through Bolivia into Argentina in the next monthes, i wish to do it on an (at least) 400cc Enduro (any brand)
After reading the HUBB i see that Chile is the most recommended place to buy a bike and get it registered. Unfortunately i can't find much info about Peru and Bolivia!
As i will fly in to Lima mid of October 2010 i would aprechiate to get some hints about:

-Buying and register a bike in Lima as European with Tourist Visa
-Crossing the boarder from Peru to Bolivia

If i can't get a bike in Peru i consider to get one in La Paz (Bolivia) and cross the boarder into Argentina.

Anybody has contacts, local dealers or fellow motorcycle travelers in these aerias?
Anybody knows about buying bikes (local or from foreign travelers) and taking them out of the country? (Peru & Bolivia)

Many thanks, saludos

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
