Hmmm, I still need to work out what I'm going to use with my DR650 and have considered the soft bags but was concerned with the security aspect.

Anyway, good luck with it all over there and let us know how you go with the soft bags!

From my experiences in South America, I think the perfect luggage setup is a hard secure backbox for the stuff you want to keep safe and soft bags for clothes. Maybe a small ortlieb for a sleeping bag and a thermarest.

I dont know what your experience is but you really just gotta take as little as possible. EVERYONE send soooo much stuff home its a joke.

You really really really really need so little.
