Angel fall in Benezuela then Manaus in Brazil?

Dear guys,
I{m staying in Bogota and will go to see the famous Angel fall in Benezuela next week.
However,I cannot see the road on the map.
What is the best way to see that?
Also,I like to go down to Manaus in Brazil to
take a Amazon tour then go back to Columbia.
After that I will go down to west side until Ushuaia.
Please,give me some tips..

If things haven't changed since 2004 then there is no road to the falls: you have to take a plane from Ciudad Bolivar to the park and then a motorised canoe up river to the falls (this is fun!) There is a dirt road which gets closer but not close enough, and apparently it's testing.

The Gran Sabana which stretches down to the border with Brasil is full of amazing waterfalls & tepuis - just take your pick!

Have fun,
James

Oh..I see,go to the Bolivar then take a plane..GOt it..!!

Anyway,I find that every motorcycle rider wear a vest which has a plate number on it.

Do you think I really need to buy it?
It is not expensive about 8 USD. but i'm very wondering if other travellers wear it or not..

So I still don't ride here..^^
let me know..please..

hola,

yes, by law you must wear one of this stupid vests and you must have your number on the back of the helmet. And I think you are also not allowed to have a male pillon on your bike.

I spend two months (in 2002) riding around Bogota without any vest or number on the helmet. I got stoped maybe three times, but the police is cool after they realise that you are a stranger.

But I had once two cops pointing guns at me, in a very bad area in the South of Bogota.

Buy it and you have a souvenir, or leave it and you will see what happens.

To Angle Falls you have to fly, as far as I know. I have never been there.

The Gran Sabana is worth a detour, the road down to Manaus is easy (paved with some potholes)

Saludos

Mika

There are a whole bunch of different tour operators easy to find on a websearch, for example look at www.angel-falls.com or any of the sites for Venezuela tourism.
In early 1999 I flew down to Caracas and spent a month touring around all of Venezuela in a rental car armed only with and ITMB map and a credit card. I too wanted to see Angel Falls but found out the only way was to sign up with a guide tourservice to either hike boat or fly in.I thought better of spending all the time and money while my rental car would be standing and still costing me ,and all the exertion wasn't attractive either. Had to leave something to justify another visit. But Venezuela is a beautiful country with lots of other stuff to see.

I was in Bogota on the 6th of Feb. Iwas stopped by the police for no vest I told them the customes office told me I didn't need one because I was a Tourist and just passing through. they let me go I also told the same thing to the military the next day at a check point. they also let me go. unless you want the vest for a souvenir
I wouldn't buy it. Also I drove to Cucuta then through Venezuela to Manus then boat to Belem and down the East side to Ushuaia Joe
