Price or quality?

Sorry no one has responded. Possibly you've already found a solution. If not:

For price and the type of tire you are looking for go to Sport Desert Racing in Miraflores just one block off the 'ditch' (sanjon) highway from the beach to the center.

For getting the EXACT tire you want, but not the best price, go to the BMW dealer.

Enjoy Peru! Toby

Hello goo
finding suitable tires in Peru and other S.American countries is something I want to sort out as I'm getting ready to travel there soon (starting in September).

What tires did you find and was the price reasonable?

John

The price was fairly high - about 300 dollars the pair - TKC80s which were my preference. But not bad considering it took all of 5 mins to get them. I had to go elsewhere to get them fitted. The rear was a 150/70 (much more common here for some reason) whereas my bike is specified to be a 140/80 but I know from experience that this works fine on my bike.

Basically most capital cities will have what you want if you dig around. A good alternative that I had to use in Honduras was a Pirelli MT60 - pretty cheap and durable.

Hope that helps and enjoy your trip!

Barbachi

Goo,

Have known Barbachi Motors for a long time, but prices are usually high.

Were you temped by the Aprilla on the showroom floor?

Cheers, Toby

Maybe a little...

Daresay I could have found cheaper but still beat the UK price and was exactly what I wanted in a hurry...
