2003 Honda Shadow Ace

travelling throughout mexico in Jan and Feb I plan on doing about 200 miles a day. I am taking th girlfriend on the back and although knowing may be uncomfortable and will require short jaunts any other advice? Is the bike to small? will gas be a problem? Im no stranger to mexico and drove an old camper van from Canada to Panama but will be my first trip to Mexico on the bike.
Thanks.

David and I both ride Honda Shadow 600's and we are on our second time around the world journey with them. In fact they will arrive by boat in Miami on 8th Jan and when we collect them ( we are in England at the moment) it is our plan to ride to Mexico so hopefully we can meet up somewhere.Have a ball.....you would never guess at some of the places our Shadows have taken us..............

Thanks, ive heard of people ridin around the world on Shadows, I love mine although living in this bloody climate cant say i get to use it near as much as i wish i could, my only concern seems to be gas, as I remember stations were few and far between in Mexico.
Happy Travels
Thanks

I did a similar trip 2 years ago on a Moto Guzzi California. Never had any problem finding fuel. Pemex now seems to franchising its retail operations and many new fuel stations were being built--many with US style convenience stores for a quck snack.
Even off the beaten path in Guatamala and Nicaragua I found folks selling fuel from small roadside shelters.
