Thailand/Myanmar/India Mid April '19

Seeking fellow travelers to share guide cost across Myanmar. Current plan is to enter Myanmar about mid April. Will this fit anyone's plan?
At this point I could adjust my time some but going earlier we might catch the tail of the rainy season.

Join in a van

Hi there,

I am making the same transit at a similar time. However, I will be driving a van. Nevertheless, we could still potentially share the guide costs....

Which entry and exit points were you thinking of using? Or just taking the highway straight across?

Thanks
D

At this point I have no set plans as to which entry/exit. As to how fast we cross would have to be a group decision. At his time there is one other interested in crossing. Looks like it may be moved up to sometime in March. I will send you a PM with my email so we can share what we find out.

Really Good Guide for Myanmar

Hi Road Hog, I see you are planning to cross Myanmar, May I tell you that at Plodd Stop we have had many people staying with us and they tell me that the guide that is here on messenger called Javier is a really good guide and is very helpful. There are some guide company that sound better than they really are, so be careful which you chose. I am just telling you what I have been told by many overlanders that have been through Myanmar. I have never meet him so I have no interest financial or otherwise, I hope this helps you decide on the company you use.

Dave and/or Les
Thanks for the reference all information is welcome and helpful.

I will be contacting you later about what paperwork I need to do to enter Thailand without a guide. Will make sure I stop and thank you in person on the way to Myanmar.

I could possibly be interested. My preference would be Zawmin Tun at Myanmar Senses but cost is the real driver as I am 2 up. I'm also very flexible on dates as I live in the region.

What is your intended duration in Burma?

Big Dave
send me a PM and I will keep you posted as to what I find out. Now looking at crossing in March.

Which direction are you heading? We are two motorbikes (husband and wife), departing Pakistan mid February, across India/Myanamar/Thailand. Do not intend spending too long in India,so will be ready to cross into Myanmar mid/late March

Hope you are having a good trip. Things here get more complicated every day. Dates on court cases I am involved with keep changing. When I finally get free I think I will just head out and see what I can find on crossing.
