All-africa Insurance

Hi all,

I'm planning to ride through part of Europe, cross from Spain to Algeria and then ride (motorcycle) down to Cape Town. Does anyone know of an insurance company that will cover and also (if necessary) repatriate from ANYWHERE in Africa? I live in South Africa and the local firms only cover Southern Africa...

Thanks!

Medjet Assist

Medical insurance, I take it? We used Medjet assist for air-evac but I'm not sure if non-US nationals can still get it. We also used Insure&GO and UK company for everything else medical.

All-Africa insurance

Good route...here's hoping the border at southern Algeria/norhern Niger re-opens soon. After the presidential elections in Niger on August 20, things might change.

So, who does vehicle insurance for nothern Africa, it must be possible, surley, to buy that in advance, and so save the haggling and hassle at borders?

Thanks, guys, I'll folow up on those leads. Much appreciated.

If anyone hears of anyone else who'll be in Northern Africa (Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Gahna, Togo, Benin etc) from Nov 09 onwards, let them contact me, please.

Safe riding!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
