western sahara to Noadhibou, Mauritania
I was all set on a trip through algeria into niger, lets just hope I can take the other option through the sahara... once I get to Dakhla though, how easy would it be to find transport into mauritania and on? - I don't have my own vehicle. do I need to find someone willing to give me a lift in their 4WD (how easy is this going to be in JULY?!) or are their any taxis/trucks I could get a lift in? |

I will be in much the same situation as you, in Morocco without own transport, looking for a ride into Mauritania--except I will be there in early august. What I have been told is to check out the camppground in Dakhla and ask for people who are planning to head towards Mauritania. I have also been told to try this near the Maur Embassy in Rabat/Casa where you must apply for the visa to get into Maur. I dont know if this helps, but maybe.
Perhaps I will see you in Maur, good luck and happy trails. --jacob |
