water quality Borkou-Ennedi-Tibesti, Chad

Hello,
does anyone know about the water quality of wells in the Borkou-Ennedi-Tibesti area in Chad. Is it necessary to use micropur? For water from wells in S-Algeria I never used micropur.

We drank well water in the Bodele Depression for 2.5 weeks. Bodele is south of Tibesti and west of Ennedi, 100km of so SSW of Faya. The water was pretty soapy and a bit salty - so tasted better when mixed with something else. It didn't seem to do any harm though.

Ennedi

I travelled in the Eneddi region for a month early this year, and used water from many of the wells. I did use Micropur tablets for the water, as there are people living in the region, and some of the wells are not very deep. The water was nearly always of good quality, having no 'flavour'. I find Micropur very effective with very little added taste.
