visas heading north from Gambia to Morocco

Hi guys - I am flying to Gambia and heading north to Morocco through Senegal and Mauritania. A couple of questions...

1. Can I get a senegal visa at the senegal border with Gambia?

2. Can I get a Mauritania visa at Diama on the spot?

3. Can I get insurance for vehicles when I get to spain as easily as I can in african countries?

I've done it before going south and I think it should be very easy going north but up-to-date advice from someone who has travelled north recently would be very welcome and put my mind at ease. Many thanks,

Alex

Don't know, never had to as UK passport holders don't need one. What passport do you hold ?

2. Can I get a Mauritania visa at Diama on the spot?

Definately not, they will send you to Rosso. I got caught out in May. Get your Mauri Visa in Gambia, the Mauri Embassy was at Senegambia last time I got one.

3. Can I get insurance for vehicles when I get to spain as easily as I can in african countries?

I would think so, but doesn't your normal bike insurance cover you for all EU contries? some even give you third party cover for Morroco.
In Gambia it will be probably be cheaper to get your Senegal cover at the same time as your Gambian Insurance.

many thanks for the info, very much appreciated - I am on a UK passport - I will get Maur visa in Banjul then. I am riding someone elses bike from Gambia to UK so will need to get insurance everywhere I go, which means Spain too.

mauri visa

Last time, the Mauri Ambassy wasn't in Banjul but in the neighborhood of the Senegambia strip (like Lamin mentioned), in one of the small buildings opposite of the gasstation, there was a little sign.

' I am riding someone elses bike '

Alex- I would say you will need proof of ownership in your name unless owner is with you. ? otherwise how can you prove bike is not stolen ?
