visa for Niger

Hi there.
We are in Bamako and travelling to Niger after crossing burkina faso. There is no embassy in Mali, neither in Burkina Faso..
Does someone know if it's possible to get a visa at the border between Burkina and Niger (we are swiss), or if there's other possibilities?
Thanx!!!!!

Hi,
pop in to any of the ECOWAS embassies and get the visa d'entente.

Failing that, the french embassy in Ouagadougou seems to have powers to issue visa for neighbouring states, although I was heading west at the time.

Good luck
Luke

Embassies have a limited number of Visas d'entente. The ones to the west of the ECOWAS sell out early. "Il n'y en a plus" can be interpreted both as "sold out" or that the visa no longer exists.

I would be surprised if it's cancelled as it would signify problems in the ECOWAS (which runs smoother than Europe), although the Visa d'entente reduces the number of embassy visits, and therefore the revenues of those you haven't visited; which is a reason countries might pressure for its removal.

Anybody corroborate the cancellation?
