Visa for Mali
 

Hi,
We're planning a trip to Mali around New Year. Where do people think the best place to get a visa is, Paris or Brussels?
Also, do you have any idea of costs, time to issue, validity, contact details of consulate etc.
Btw, we are UK citizens, living in England.

I guess you are flying into Bamako. How about the airport? I got one at the airport in August.

You can get a visa for Mali at Baamako Airport? I never heard about that. Can you give me more details, please? Such as duration of visa, any requirements, cost etc.

Visa for Mali in Brussels cost 30 Euros and takes 3 to 4 days. You have to give the adress were you wil stay, if you don't have one, just ask for a list of hotels in the ambassey.
Acces to the ambassy: from 9.30 to 12.00 on weekdays.

Thanks for that Mark. I tried phoning the embassy in Brussels, but got no answer so it's difficult to find informaiton
Do you know if I also need to provide a character reference / letter of guarantee?
Do you know of any online map of brussels so I can find the embassy.

I forget what the cost was...and I was a little nervous about waiting until I got to Bamako. But, it was very easy and it was a 30 day visa.

I got one with out a worry at the airport was $50USD and for 60 days.
Which is a sight cheaper and easier than going to Brussels.

If you're flying, be careful about getting a visa in advance - I've been asked to show my visa at check-in in Europe.

I normally use an agency to obtain my Mali visa.

Tony, Useless to phone to the ambassey in Brussels, tried it several times and even asked by fax to send me a list of necessairy documents for our 30 day visa. No answer. I can send you a copy by mail of the document i received in the ambassey. Nevertheless you will loose several days in Brussels. We did not need need to provide a character reference / letter of guarantee only an adress. You can easily find a map on http://www.viamichelin.com (molierelaan at elsene)
