Visa d'Entente - where to get ?

Hello All,

I am in Mali and trying to save on visa costs by getting the visa d'entente for West Africa (it is kind of like a Schengen visa for Europe). Any idea where I can get it, either which embassy and also in which city ?

Txs.

Hello Hed,

Were offered the Visa L'Entente at the Burkina Faso Embassy in Bamako - Mali for 25000CFA.

It could be a good deal, but keep in mind that this is a single entry VISA for Togo, Benin, BurkFaso, CoteIvor! and Niger. I you brake the chain and for example pop into Ghana for a bit of biking, there goes your visa...

Hmm this Visa L'Entente is great but nobody seems to know how it works so you get different stories.

I got mine in Ghana at the togolese embassy and they explained to me that it only allows entry once in each country, but that I could leave the zone as far as I don't return to the same country. I went from Ghana to Togo and Benin and then on to Nigeria. After Nigeria I didn't have any problem to enter Niger and Burkina Faso with the same visa and the immigration officer in Niger where familier with it.

I don't know if you can get a multy entry Visa L'Entente, its hinted that it could be possible...

Is there in the mean time any more information on this? Seems like a damn easy option...

Anyone got some real experience with it...?

Tripitaka is right, I followed the same route a few montsh ago and the D'Entente worked well in the fashion described by him. Nice money saver if you are going to visit at least 3 of the included countries.

NB: Nigeria visas are easier to get in Accra than in Benin.
Chad visas can easiliy be obtained in Abuja.

Safe travels !!

Hed

We got them in Accra from the Togolese embassy - 25,000CFA and next day service with a smile - I know others who got theirs beforehand in Burkina and managed to travel via Ghana (breaking the continuity so to speak) without problems...

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
