Vehicle parts in western sahara and mauritania
 
hello i´m thinking of traveling down to gambia and back but I am unsure about getting vehicle parts in western sahara and mauritania if I do break down can anyone help please

If you drive Mercedes diesel no problem. Or Toyota. All other makes will be difficult.

I think gvdaa mean Mercedes 190d or something similar. Those big vans are rare down there. Only very old models similar to 207d could be find.

So what do people do if they break down in these desert vehicles?? would they just get the parts shipped over some how?? :)

What about Land Rovers? They always need parts.

All Mercedes parts will be readily available, in the worst case you would have to use public transport to go to Cassablanca or Nouackchott or any of the bigger cities, or even easier, pay someone to go get the part. Mercedes is king over there. I myself am driving my old VW transporter there in november, and I'm sure even VW parts won't be too difficult. Don't worry, it's when you break down, that you'll meet the nicest people.

i THINK mercedes, toyota is easier in mauritanie in comparison to land rover. BUT as far as i know when you need anything for your land rover dakhla in the western sahara is the place to be!!!
