Vehicle Modifications

I've received quite q few emails from readers of this bulletin board about some of the modifications I've made to my 300 TDi. Feel free to email me any time, but I've now put all my info on my web site http://www.a2b.uk.net for those who are interested.

I'm not selling anything so don't be afraid to have a look. All the modifications and links to suppliers are on the Vehicle Page.

Also, if anyone thinks I'done anything stupid to my Land Rover / Trailer or can think of anything I should be doing please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Pete, great site and well done for getting the whole family involved in such a worthwhile adventure.

I would just like to say that you might want to consider carrying a portable hand winch such as a tirfor. The reason i mention it is that it is quite easy to get bogged down when towing a trailer, and you may have to unhitch the trailer to get unstuck. If this happens, it may not be possible to recover the trailer with a tow rope. The tirfor can be used to pull the vehicle or trailer in any direction you require. I understand your reluctance to take a high lift jack, but this could also double as a short pull winch with the right combination of shackle and shortening chain etc. Just a thought, Regards,

Regardles of Pete's past attempts to kill himself with such an unwieldy instrument, I still believe a gentleman should not leave home without it. The bags are fine until they get punctured, and pretty messy when used in mud. You need a lot of determination to destroy a hi-lift. Pete, get advice from someone experienced how to use the jack and you won't regret.
