Up-to-date Libya Information please!
 

I am leaving the UK next month for Cape Town. The route starts Tunisia - Libya - Egypt .....
Having asked several 'knowledgable' people about entering Libya, I am told that in addition to the carnet, IDP etc you also need a sponsor in Libya to get you a visa. Is this correct? Or can we get one in Tunisia rather than London?
Any help would be much appreciated as I am starting to get a bit anxious!!

and its not good if you like doing your own thing - Then again the worst that can happen is that you have to pay some guide the 3 days it takes him to transit with you along the coast route.
