Trip to Tamanrassset and Djanet
 

Mid December I am planning to fly to Tamanrasset, visit the area and after that would like to go to Djanet -is there any public bus transportation between the two cities. I am going to travel with my Algerian friend, where would we get a guide in Tam- I can NOT walk long distances, so I could rent a 4x4 and visit the area and stay in a hotel overnight. I am on a budget, so any advise would come handy- from Djanet I would like to get to Ilizi and El Oued-is there any public bus service from Djanet to go North? I would welcome any suggestions- txs

I don't know if this is of any help to you ... but there are regular flights between Tam and Djanet and then from Djanet to other destinations. As far as I remember the prices were not that high (return ~ 100 EUR). But you can check on Air Algerie

Unfortunately I don't have any info about other means of public transport.

from Djanet to the north (also Zouatallaz) are regular taxis (2x4). The trafic from Tam to Djanet is 4x4 or truck. So you have to ask in Tam who will go to Djanet or hire a 4x4 with driver (100 Euros +- per day). No Problem.

Txs for advice- where is Zoutallas- I need to get via Illizi to El oued- but I think it is difficult for foreigners to travel on public transportation? Where can I get a guide in Djanet? Car rental? Hotel? Txs

guides are everywhere. Zouatallaz is also called Bordj ElHaues or other names are used often for this touareg village. Is on the way Djanet-Illizi at the crossing to Tam.
