Travel from Europe through the Sahara —*advice? Anyone want to come along?
 

Hey there,

I've recently been inspired to plan a trip from Europe through the Sahara. Since I'm not crazy, I will almost certainly be taking the Mauritanian route. Would love to explore around, check out Mali, Niger, etc.

Does anyone have any advice for this trip? Will likely be taking a car this time, since I do not trust myself on a bike in the Sahara.

Also, would love to find a travel partner for the trip. No dates yet, but is anyone else interests?

Hi, when were you thinking about going?

I'm planning a Spring visit to Morocco with bike and Autumn to go further afield with bike or landy depending whether my mate makes up their mind to come!

Depending when you were going may be a thought to travel together a bit.

I took the Atlantic route in 2005 and the Algeria/Niger route 2007, details of both are at Personal Trip Journal - Wilco's Worldwide Wanderings if they help.
