Exclamation Storms in Morocco

Hi,
heavy storms and hailstorms stroke mountains between Zagora and Erfoud last days. Today is getting better but queds are still full of water. Some pistes were blocked and also some main roads. Driving along Algerian border was impossible ( by one LR ).

br,
Piotr

Oh no, I'm heading out on 30-09 so I hope there are still some passable pistes by then!

We get a lot of the same weather that Morocco does, and yesterday we had a 2 hour thunderstorm with 80 litres of rain in some places. And a hailstorm with hails the size of large marbles.

Hi,
now I'm below Agadir and it is not rainnig now, but it's windy. 2 days ago weather on the west from Ouarzazate was good at the morning and stormy at the afternoon so it's still wet. Many pistas are broken or very difficult to drive even with 4wd. Regarding to the hailstorms I had hails like small eggs so now I have some marks on my Landy.

br,
Piotr

also around midelt

there were also floodings (around 12.9.09) between midelt and azilal. on the roads i was the stuff was mostly cleared. there were some big debris flows, so presumably less travelled pistes might be still blocked.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
