Sudan entry with Israeil visa stamps

I am planning to travel overland Syria - Jordan - Israel - Egypt - Sudan and continue south down the east coast of Africa. I have read on Lonely Planet I cannot enter Syria or Sudan with an Israeli stamp in my Australian passport. Syria isn't a problem because I will be thru... how about Sudan? Can anyone confirm this? Alternatively, can I get my bike on a ferry from southern Jordan (Aqaba) and into Egypt thereby bypassing Israel?
Thanks in advance.
Ciao

Thant's a definite NO-NO. Sometimes you can get away with asking for your passport not to be stamped, but even then some smartie may figure out where you've been from your Jordanian exit/egyptian entry points.

Yes, there is a fast ferry once a day from Aqaba (Jordan) to Nuweiba (Egypt) so you can bypass Israel.

Hoping this may be useful:

advised by my embassy

a few years back i traveled from jordan into israel. and when i arrived at the border i kindly told the gal behind the window that i had been advised by my embassy to have you stamp my entry and exit stamps on a seperate piece of paper that i can remove. but you will have an exit stamp from jordan but no entry to anywhere else... for me i flew to turkey, so i had an exit out of jordan, and entry into turkey, the two contries are not connected. as of yet.

A lot of countries will issue you with a duplicate passport. You can then get get the Jordan and Israel in one passport, and get the others done in the second passport. I don't know which countries do this, although the UK certainly does.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
