Across the Sahara Dessert

Hi,
I will be crossing the Sahara Desert from North to South. The route I will be using can be viewed on our page Sahara Dreaming The expedition is a photographic one and I will begin the 4th of February to be exact. I will begin in Tunis, I will try to get the visa to Libya from there and then continue all the way down to Cote d'Ivoire. I will be using the most feasable public transport.

I was wondering if you would be able to give any sort of advice from the smallest things to visa issues and all. I am of Guinea (Conakry) nationality therefore my only issues are Algeria and Libya.

Moustafa.

I have moved this to a more relevant forum, which is difficult because of the nature of your question. Your question covers just about every aspect of a big trip and is not going to be easy to respond to.
I would suggest that you use the Search facility and gather as much info as you can. Then ask more specific questions to fill in the blanks.

Stephen

I think your only issue will be getting visa and passage into Niger for an Argentinian.
You should try and get that visa in advance.

Thanks electric_Monk for moving it and you assistance. I will definitely be splitting the question and putting them in forums that belong. Just getting started with HUBB so ill get there very soon.

Priffe: The part with the visa for me is really chill i only need visa for Libya and Algeria. Unfortunately Ivan my argentinian friend decided not to come so that'll be all we need in terms of visas. I found someone to make me an invitation for the visa so im all good for Algeria but Libya seems to be a bit rough!! No border crossing with Tunisia apparently and only accepting Business visa.

Ill keep you updated on what happens with me and ill be sharing the good infos across the correesponding topics.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
